DOG FOOD- Illinois Valley Animal Rescue goes through approximately 350 pounds of dog food per week. Although the contributions of dog food is
always greatly appreciated, it is need more now than ever. The "Rotweiller Rescue" donated a large load and were ready to do so again when tragically, their
storage basement was flood during the heavy rains and ruined tons of food. Any amount of food you can donate would benefit the dogs in our care greatly. Keeping
these dogs fed and healthy is a number one concern.
Other items on the wish list include: Adjustable collars, leashes, metal crates, chew bones, milk bones, towels, blankets, bowls, office supplies, toys, etc. Anything you can offer, offers these animals hope.
Stop by MENARDS and check out the Helping Homeless Animals Registry. Here you can pick out what you want to donate from the the list. It is much like a bridal registery
except the list will contain things like fence posts & fencing, dog treats, leashes, dog houses, tarps & more to help maintain the health and happiness of the animals in the care
of Illinois valley Animal Rescue. The nicest part (aside from your generousity) is that you will not have to deliver anything anywhere. IVAR will pick up your donation for you.
Just tell them what you would like to donate and a "prepaid order for IVAR" and we'll do the rest.
ILLINOIS VALLEY ANIMAL + RESCUE P.O. Box 284 Peru, Illinois 61354PLASTIC DOG HOUSES- Illinois Valley Animal Rescue is getting very short in supply versus demand on dog houses. Although any would help, plastic is prefered
due to the fact they are easier to move around and transport.
METAL GARBAGE CANS WITH LIDS- Storing the donated animal food has become a dilemma with rodents looking for a dining hall, they have become quite a problem.
One of the solutions, we feel would be to help deter the "breaking & entering" by storing the food in lidded metal garbage cans. Since IVAR goes through roughly 350 pounds
of dog food a week, the bigger the can the better.
You can contact IVAR to report stray or abused animals or receive membership and volunteer information by calling (815)224-0061. Your call will be confidential.
